Here, I’ll explain how to organize your well-recorded sources—and what information to include—when sending everything to a mixing engineer.
If I summarize it in one line first:
Export your organized vocals and instrumental as WAV / 24-bit / 48 kHz,
aligned from 00:00 and matched to the same length, then send them to your engineer.
If your project is 44.1 kHz, export as 44.1 kHz / 24-bit as-is.
Everything else is simply “good to know.” Add it gradually when you have time.
If you follow just this, you’re already in a good place for a standard mixing request.
The most practical default is:
If your entire project was done at 44.1 kHz,
don’t force it to 48 kHz—export as 44.1 kHz / 24-bit as-is.
Before exporting, confirm these two points one more time:
