Project Overview:

Lend UX - is an end-to-end digital lending platform for SBA 7(a) loans. Borrowers leave an application for a business loan, which is automatically checked by the bank and gives a quick result. The company hired me for a project work as an UX designer to improve user experience of the platform, and make borrower’s and lender’s work more easier and smooth.

Problem Statement:

The interface for borrowers - is a one huge loan application. Borrowers should upload lot of documents about their business and financial statement. The detailed filling out of the form is critically important, because the result of the loan depends on it. The task is to simplify navigation and make the process of filling out the form clear and intuitive.

Used the Design Thinking approach for solving this problem. To practice design thinking we followed the below process.

Discover and define phases:

On this stage I did a desk research - workshop with team and product owner, who are already familiar with interface. We discussed and defined key problems on interface, which confusing user the most, instead of helping him.

Also I checked metrics they have: the average time to fill out the form took about an hour. At the same time, users often took long breaks of several days while filling out the form.
