New systems get build for many reasons:
Obsolete systems need to be replaces.
A merger between companies means that old systems cannot fulfill all requirements.
The current database is too small.
An external push is a factor that comes from outside the company, such as government changes or supplier shortages.
An internal push is a factor that comes from inside the company, such as user requests or manager decisions.
The process of building a new system involves a lot of planning.
It is important to determine all the needs and issues involved with the system, and what the requirements are.
The term business analysis can be defined as a practice of enabling change in an organizational context, by defining and recommending solutions that deliver value to stakeholders.
