Current platforms are not created for regenerative collaboration

The transition to a regenerative world will require unprecedented collaboration—and powerful tools to support that work. Existing platforms are not helping, as they:

Hylo is designed to help communities thrive

Hylo is an easy- and free to use collaboration platform designed to amplify cooperation among people regenerating our planet. It differs from other platforms in three main ways.

1. Hylo enables collaboration across networks

Unlike existing platforms, Hylo advances cooperation across groups, networks, movements and bioregions. This is achieved through their unique Holonic network architecture: groups nested inside groups. This makes each individual group an integrated whole and—at the same time—part of larger whole. Busting the silos to collaboration across networks is critical, as no one group can regenerate the planet single-handedly.

2. Hylo advances localized action

Hylo focuses on place-based organizing. Their geographic map helps people understand their shared landscape and makes it easy for people to connect to other people, organizations and networks based on their own location. Hylo also makes it easy to share events, projects, resources, discussions, requests, and offers based on location, skills and interests (within the entire ecosystem).

3. Hylo is completely free and open source

Hylo is stewarded by the Terran Collective, a community of care and practice that builds systems and tools for a regenerative future. Hylo is not built to maximize ad revenue, but it’s built as a tech commons, forever open source and free to use. Hylo runs as a non-profit and is resourced through donations and paid partnerships. Their partnership with Holo will make it easy to fully decentralize Hylo by porting it to Holochain when the time is right.

Hylo’s mascot is an axolotl! Besides they are very cute, axolotls have the ability to regrow parts of their body over and over and they are also forever young. This makes this endangered amphibian the perfect symbol of the regeneration.
