What are we solving?

If you want to build a new house, renovate your bathroom, or even add an electric vehicle charger to your garage - you need a construction permit.

What do you need to do to get a construction permit today? Well, it's a disaster. Right now you need to hire a contractor to submit plan sets to the city and then wait sometime between a week and 3 years to find out whether your permit has been accepted or rejected. Once it has been rejected (and it will at least 3 times), you get a sheet a paper in the mail informing you of where the mistakes are in extremely confusing language. If that wasn't bad enough - when you resubmit your permit - you go to the back of the queue and have to start waiting all over again. All of this confusion and time is a because cities are lacking software to track, annotate, and approve permits digitally.

This is why construction takes so long and is so expensive and this is what we are solving at Permitivity.

Company Overview

When you think Permitivity, think "Turbo-Tax for construction permits". Permitivity is a construction software startup that is automating the permitting approval process for cities and real estate developers.

Market

Each year, $8bn is spent on construction permits and solutions to cut down the time for approval. This number is growing by 10% each year with the boom in residential construction. Coupling this with the $60bn spent in 2021 on local government software, Permitivity is tackling a massive opportunity.
