This is a very flawed list that I created off the top of my head during a flow state. I plan on making this list very iterative as I do not expect myself to agree with everything here during the next few years. These are the laws I lead my life by. A lot of the information below is presented as if they are facts, but honestly I don’t know. This is just what I believe currently. Feel free to reach out with your own thoughts.
- Extreme self-belief is a necessity - what if you really are the best to ever do it? You will never find out if you don't believe it internally. That being said, make sure to remain humble and recognize when you are wrong.
- No such thing as overly optimistic - you cannot control what happens to you, but you can certainly control how you react.
- Inspiration and motivation are both fleeting - act with the utmost urgency at all times.
- All you have is the impact you create - think deeply about the net impact you have had on the people you care about.
- In one day you can change your life - the hard part is not knowing what you need to do, it is having the courage to take action.
- Do what everyone else is doing - get what everyone else is getting. Need I say more? To get extraordinary results you have to do extraordinary things.
- To be a great leader you must create leaders - pride yourself on providing as many leadership opportunities as possible. Bring people up with you.
- You can change the world - so many other people have done it, why not you?
- Surround yourself with inspiration - you control who you are around so choose wisely.
- If you don't like something, do something about it - complaining about your problems to other people does nothing.
- Find yourself - it is easy to get lose yourself with all the external stimulation nowadays, find a way to make sure your beliefs are your own.
- Materialism is lame - none of that matters.
- You choose how you spend your time - make sure it is worth it.
- Claims vs actions - everyone filters their words, you can learn the most about a person through their actions.
- There are three types of confidence: delusional confidence, confidence through necessity and acquired confidence - it often doesn't matter which one you have, but rather just that you are confident. There are so many successful dumb people that were able to succeed through delusional confidence. Sometimes all it takes is truly believing you can accomplish what you set out to do. - Do the right thing because its the right thing to do - be the person you want in your life. So many people have to jump through hoops to get themselves to justify doing the right thing. I don’t understand this.
- It often takes minimal effort to have a positive impact - offer to help out a friend, give a gift, write a card. All of these actions take such a small part of your time and energy but can have drastic impacts on the lives of the people you care about.
- Let people surprise you - ask people questions, learn about what makes them, them. The people you overlook are often the ones that will impress you the most.
- Don't let others define the person you are - trying to live up to the persona of what others think you are will lead to miserable life.
