Reddit is an online community of 1.2B monthly active users. It is a set of thousands of thematic communities (”subreddits”), big and small.

Posting on Reddit differs from launching on 𝕏 or LinkedIn. You can have zero followers on Reddit and still get significant views. This is exactly what a beginning founder needs.

But there is a downside. Since anyone can post there, Reddit is full of spammers. Spammers made Redditors paranoid and toxic. So you will have to act carefully.

Theory of launching

Launching is announcing your work publicly. We do it to get attention and users.

Unfortunately, just sharing your SaaS is not enough. SaaS became a commodity, this is why no one cares about a new one. It’s just boring.

The worst post you can do is “I made a simple task management SaaS” and list the features in the body. This gets ignored.

You have to add something to the launch post to make it exciting for others.

But what is that something? This guide will give plenty of ideas in the next chapter. But before we continue, let’s understand the idea of launching better.

Launching is the most valuable growth skill. You can get SaaS users from a properly launched blog post or a side project.

And of course you can launch your SaaS and get users directly.

The sweetest part? You can launch your SaaS again. And again. Your whole marketing campaign may rely on this only skill.

But do you know what is even sweeter? You can use launching to validate ideas. Imagine you have got a new SaaS idea. To validate it, you don’t need a product, an actual SaaS. You don’t even need a landing page. Just make a proper launch post with the problem and the solution you have in mind. Hit a nerve? You can be sure people will want your app if you build it. No reaction? Well, why even try, then? If you can’t launch it, there is no reason to build it. Because after you build an actual SaaS, nothing will change. You will still not be able to drag attention. But you will also have 3–6 months wasted.

I started writing this guide after launching my growth ideas on 𝕏 a few times. People liked my tweets. They asked me to write a book. So I did. The guide is selling well. I was 100% sure it will be a success because I have proven the demand by launching it as tweets first.

The ultimate skill of launching can be applied not only on Reddit. Soon, you will get audience on 𝕏 or LinkedIn or Substack. You will be able to efficiently launch your products to your audience.
