Overview

It is our mission to support LSE founded startups with a programme focused on driving measurable growth and to nurture entrepreneurial leaders who will create long term impact through their ventures

The London School of Economics is launching its first accelerator program in 2020 for early stage impact orientated companies that are ready to grow and scale. In its first year, there were over 90 applications for 15 places in areas ranging from provision of clean water to supporting healthier food habits with a focus on progressing at least 2 UN Sustainable Development goals.

LSE Founders in the first cohort span more than 10 nationalities from a range of degree disciplines and are 60% female founded. They will go through a rigorous programme over 6 months which reflects the reality of doing business today.

Given the unchartered territory we find ourselves in today, we are adapting our programming to focus on Survival, Opportunity and Sanity - innovating in uncertain times to keep our startups thriving. Underlying our enterprise programme is a focus on developing entrepreneurial leaders who are able to drive tangible impact through their ventures well beyond the accelerator.

Since lockdown was announced, our start ups have adapted and responded to new environment with extrodinary resilience and resolve with several ventures dedicating time and resources to supporting the global COVID response.

We have also recently launched LSE's first ever internship programme supported by Santander. Accelerator founders will hire remote interns from the LSE community this Summer to provide entrepreneurial exposure early in their careers. We are looking forward to supporting the continued impact of each and every venture in the lead up to the LSE demo day in September as continue to navigage the new business normal.
