Foz do Arelho, that special place that so few can truly call home.

I am a proud child of this paradise where I grew up.

Along the lagoon’s edges or on the ocean waves, that’s where you would find me. A place where I learned to fish, sail, surf, and simply be myself. To be happy. Because everything nature gives us is enough (and it is free). The sun, the sea. The moon. Nature itself.

Since I was young, I have always cared about ecology, recycling, and respecting the environment. I believe that sustainable development is possible for our region, and having travelled to areas of more mass tourism, I know exactly what I do not want for my parish. I intend to continue promoting sustainability to protect the flora and fauna of this Portuguese gem.

From an early age, I have been passionate about mathematics and numbers, which is why I earned a degree in Hotel Management and Direction (DGH) from ESHTE. I aim to continue applying these skills to ensure the parish council’s accounts are well managed and transparent. Since 2018, I have also been the manager of the Sunshine hotel group here in Foz do Arelho.

Being the child of two travellers, I have seen many corners of the world, which has allowed me to speak or understand five languages—Portuguese, Spanish, English, French, and Italian—and I know a bit of Thai. This is also a valuable skill in helping integrate any foreign members of our community.

My reason for supporting and joining this candidacy is largely tied to transparency in the parish council’s accounts, which are currently quite ambiguous. The policies and decisions of the current administration leave much to be desired. Residents have the right to be informed about the accounts, and if they have questions, the council must be prepared to provide clear answers and demonstrate how the “machinery of the state” should function.

I have always been a very creative person, full of new ideas, and I hope to contribute positively in that regard as well.

I hope this candidacy can help make our community more united and, above all, make Foz do Arelho an even better place for everyone who lives here (a priority) and for all who visit, with cleaner, more cared-for streets and improved urban planning.

We are a mostly young and dynamic executive team (the children of this land and its future), each with different areas of study and skills that, when combined, will bring better results and the rejuvenation this village needs.

Quoting Sebastião Bugalho via Miguel Sousa Tavares:

"Age passes with time, but if Foz were going to change with those who have been here for a long time, it would have changed already, wouldn’t it?"

We bring change, rejuvenation, voice, and light.

Foz do Arelho. A place to love.

A place to go and always return to. ✨
