Ingredients:
For the Tonkatsu:
- 1 boneless pork loin chop, about 1.5–2 cm thick
- Salt and pepper
- 2 tbsp flour
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1/2–1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- Oil for frying
For the Sandwich:
- 2 slices shokupan, sliced about 3 cm thick
- 2–3 tbsp tonkatsu sauce
- Finely shredded cabbage, optional
- Softened butter, optional but traditional
Tonkatsu Sauce:
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp ketchup
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp sugar or honey
- 1/2 tsp Dijon mustard
