1. What types of cards does the app support?
Karten supports trading card games including Pokemon, Magic: The Gathering (MTG), Yu-Gi-Oh, One Piece, Lorcana, Digimon, and Bandai TCG. Sports cards, coins, stamps, and other collectibles are not supported.
2. How accurate is card recognition?
Very accurate for common and mainstream TCG cards. Accuracy may drop for very rare, heavily worn, or obscure regional variants. We offer a scan correction feature to catch any missing scan.
3. Does the app work in low light or blurry conditions?
The scanner is tuned for low light and glare, but best results come from good lighting and a steady camera.
4. Can the app detect fake or proxy cards?
Not reliably. In some cases it may flag anomalies, but counterfeit detection is not guaranteed.
5. Does the app require an internet connection?
Yes — live market prices and identification require an internet connection.
6. Does Karten work with slabbed (graded) cards?
Yes. The scanner supports both raw and slabbed cards.
7. What is the AI grading feature?
Before sending cards to PSA, BGS, or CGC, Karten gives you an AI-estimated condition score with sub-grade details (centering, corners, edges, surface) in seconds.
8. Can I track my collection's value over time?
Yes — Karten's collection tracker records every card, set, and variant with price history charts.
