KOL, Key Opinion Leader, are those who are active in the industry and have a voice. In fact, they are not really “influencers” [not the likes of those who sell you soap on YouTube yoga channels] but rather those who know financial products, interact with DeFi, have decent knowledge of one or the other aspect that comes with growing a protocol. It can be technical, product, community, or even memes. Every one is different, every one can be great in their own way.
<aside> 💡 What is the program about?
It’s an outreach program aimed to foster growth and amplification of Gearbox V2: growing the user base, general community & DAO, product awareness, etc. It is not aimed at shilling coins - only the product & the DAO.
****TLDR: you help with amplification in your community & among your following (posts, threads, creative materials be it memes or videos) - of course, we help you with those - and the metaDAO rewards you for your outstanding help in GEAR (and sometimes USDC). For new KOLs, a referral program can be a start, and then upgraded to GEAR.

<aside> 💡 What do I get as a KOL?
The engagement can start with a referral special link for you which is fully on-chain which earns you back some of the DAO revenues the protocol makes from the users you direct → and then be upgraded to also have a GEAR bag so your incentives are aligned with the protocol. Basically, two things at once! Sounds good? Read up!

Leverage as a middle layer, composable. As a quick pitch, see this…
