<aside> ℹ️ We're really aware that applying for jobs can have its ups and downs. We thought it would be good to level with you – so that you, and we, know what to expect.
This process will introduce you to us and us to you. We're not asking for cover letters or CVs (we will read them if you send them), but we are asking that you be honest with us and we will do the same with you.
Applications will be open until December 2nd for round one but we would encourage you to get in touch sooner rather than later. Round two closes at the end of the year, but the vacancy may be filled from Round one.
Candour means to be open, honest and frank: that's the starting point for us. We're a small team and are passionate about the films that we make and the clients we serve. We are always looking to learn, improve and adapt - we think that is the way that we can continue to build a sustainable business and make great films.
Candour officially started in 2014 in the front room of a student house in Falmouth. We stretched ourselves creatively as much as possible, taking on everything from web projects to graphic design, photography and film. More recently, in our pursuit of doing one thing well we have honed in on filmmaking.
Candour has three aims; (1) to create impactful films that speak for brands and draw focus onto stories, (2) to facilitate and inspire the creative development of its people, (3) and to do these things; collaboratively, graciously and honestly.
We're based out of a sweet studio in Bermondsey in the old Biscuit Factory 🍪 We boast nice freshly made coffee, a lovely velvet teal sofa and a growing family of indoor plants. Sunsets are amazing and our view looks over a few train lines if you're into that kind of thing 🚂

Junior: this might be your first or second role in the industry. You've got lots to learn and you're willing to throw yourself in. Desire is key, we want you to want to improve, learn, develop as a filmmaker - we don't expect you to be the finished article - because we're not. We also want you to help us improve, learn and develop.
Filmmaker: you're a generalist - not yet specialised in any particular area. We typically work on a project-by-project basis. This means that once you're up to speed you'll see projects through from start to finish. We lean on each other to add value and fulfil specific tasks, but an eagerness to get involved in the whole process is essential.
We are looking for someone with an artistic eye - you know what you like and what looks good. A good understanding of light and colour. It would be awesome if you are familiar with the software and kit that we use, but it is more important that you're willing to learn.
We have a flexible and diverse workload so responsibilities will vary depending on circumstances but range across the following:
