I'm JV, a Salvadoran-American self-taught software engineer living in Boston, MA but currently trapped in Yangon, Myanmar due to COVID-19. As a Latinx in tech in Boston, first-gen student, and first-gen American, things haven't been always easy, and coming from a non-traditional background, I appreciate opportunities such as software engineering for FightPandemic, helping a project that matters for this world whilst I develop my skills further.
I have built small projects in Java, Nodejs, and React, and hoping to be able to at least solve bugs and/or help other engineers develop new features. I love learning, if I don't know something, I would research it until I am able to do it or ask my peers for guides on how to approach a problem.
