LIMBONDO is not only a form of entertainment, but also an important element of the cultural identity if the Mako de people, conveying values and stories through dance.

Maputo Dance: Maputo Dance as used by the community that practices it, also originally takes places on the Mako de plateau compressing the districts of Murda, Nabgade and Muidumbe in the province of Cabo Delgado. The Xigubo dance is a tradiional Mozambique dance originally from the southern regions of the country, especial in the provinces of Gaza and Maputo, where it is still most practiced. It represents colonial resistance and is performed primarily by men standing in lines, adorned with furs, necklaces, and other symbolic objects, accompanied by defensive instruments such as the xitlhango or assegaia.
