Taking type 2 diabetes as an example; over $800 billion is spent managing diabetes annually globally - equating to 1% of global GDP. Since 2000, the number of people living with the condition has tripled, reaching 450 million people globally so, the chances are that you - like us - have experienced the toll the condition can have on someone’s life firsthand. Diabetes is one of the leading causes of stroke, amputation, blindness, and heart attack.
With an increasingly more complex food system and solutions that do not provide the level of personalisation and support needed, often simply treating the symptoms - not the root cause - the burden of these conditions will continue to grow exponentially. We must take action.
