What it's like to work with me

There are a few things I want to be upfront and honest about before you consider reaching out to me, because I believe if you're on board with how and why I work, it's a good indicator we'll be compatible for a work relationship.

I thought this would serve as a much better indicator of what I'm like:

I firmly believe these reasons are major factors in why I've always had great client relationships:

  1. My work-life balance. When well balanced, I'm more excited and focused on my work which means I produce higher quality products.
    1. If It's not between the times of 7-2 (Monday-Friday), you should not expect any communication from me. This isn't my lack of interest in your project or company. It's my increased interest in living life, spending time with my family, doing new things, and enjoying the time I've work so hard to have.
    2. I tend to not work weekends, but occasionally, I'll make an exception if I'm behind due to my own mistakes or we have code in production and a major bug becomes blocking to users.
  2. I want to be incredibly proud to deliver.
    1. I want to be challenged.
    2. I want to build something your users enjoy using.
    3. I want to know what I deliver will continue to serve as a base for your company for years to come.
  3. Our relationship.
    1. I will be honest, informative, and upfront with you each and every day, and in every conversation.
    2. Although I value and want our relationship to thrive, I will not be at your service 24/7. If my personal time is being interrupted with things related to work, I'm most likely going to unconsciously hold that against you, and I really don't want that.
  4. Our users.
    1. I will always fight for the best solution for the end user, or suggest the best alternatives.
  5. Getting shit done.
    1. If I don't feel I've earned my keep, I can't enjoy anything outside of work.

Also, contrary to popular belief, I think you should know what my weaknesses are in relation to us working together.

  1. When I'm really focused, I shut out everything, including calls and messages for hours. I have a tendancy to be exhausted at the end of a 5-6 hour day and forget the little pleasantries, such as letting you know what I did, redeploying the test site, etc.
  2. I don't always work even-hour days. Some days, I'll end up working only 4 hours and some I'll work 8, so the amount of work done can seem unsteady from day to day.
