Monzo – a UK Challenger Bank
Senior Engineering Manager / July 2018 – July 2020
- Part of the leadership of the 'Revenue Incubator' Collective— and then later the Business Banking team. Managed two engineering managers and thirty engineers across six squads.
- Delivered iterations to Monzo's Engineering Progression Framework to make it more inclusive of all engineers as the team grew and diversified.
- Hiring Manager for product backend engineers, as we grew the engineering team from 50 to 200 people. Revamped the process to better assess the full gamut of senior skills, which helped us make competitive offers to brilliant senior/staff engineers.
- Helped hire twenty Engineering Managers as a lead interviewer. Conducted hundreds of interviews and worked closely with the hiring manager to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our interview process.
