We needed access

The Big Idea: Jesus recovered what we couldn’t reach.

In this relatable and humorous message, Paul explores being created in God's image and discusses how sin distances us from Him. Using vivid analogies, like being locked out of one’s own house, Paul illustrates how Jesus is the ultimate locksmith who came not just to clear our sins but to grant us direct access to God. This message encourages us to live fully in the presence of God now, instead of waiting for heaven. It’s a call to embrace the vibrant, connected life Jesus makes possible, bringing us back to God’s love and community.

Daily Devotions

Day 1: Made in God's Image

Scripture: Genesis 1:27

Reflection: In the beginning, God created us in His image. This means we are made to reflect Him in our lives. When people see us, they should see a glimpse of God, just like when we look in a mirror and see our reflection.

Devotional: We are like mirrors showing God to the world. But sometimes things cloud our reflection, like when a mirror gets dirty. Sin makes us feel far from God, just like when Adam and Eve felt far from Him after they disobeyed Him. Being made in God's image means we are important and have a special purpose.

Reflection Questions:

  1. How can you show others what God is like through your actions today?
  2. What makes you feel close to God?

Additional Scriptures: Psalm 139:13-14, Ephesians 2:10

Day 2: The Great Theft

Scripture: John 10:10

Reflection: Jesus talks about a thief who comes to steal and destroy. This thief is the enemy who tries to keep us away from God and make us feel like we're not good enough.

Devotional: The enemy tries to make us forget who we are in God. He does this by making us feel worthless or lost. Just like in a game where someone might take the ball away from you, the enemy tries to steal our joy and our relationship with God. But God has a plan to give us life fully and bring us back to Him.
