Things got very bad

The Big Idea: A bad filter can ruin a good view.

In this message, we dive into the story of Adam and Eve and explore how their rebellion in the Garden of Eden affected us all by creating a distance between God and us. We’ll discover how we were originally made in God’s image and why the enemy’s trick was so powerful. This isn't just a history lesson—it's about understanding how we can reconnect with God and reclaim our lost identity. Join us as we learn how to overcome spiritual distance and live in the closeness with God and others that we were designed for.

Daily Devotions

Day 1: Made in God's Image

Scripture: Genesis 1:27 (NIV) - "So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them."

Devotional: You are special because you are made in God's image! This means you were created to reflect a part of who God is. Sometimes we forget this and try to be like someone else, or we think we need something we don’t actually have. But God says you already have everything you need because He made you just the way you are.

Reflection Questions:

  1. What does it mean to you to be made in God's image?
  2. How can remembering this truth change the way you see yourself?

Additional Scripture: Psalm 139:14

Day 2: The First Scam

Scripture: Genesis 3:1-6 (NIV)

Devotional: The devil tricked Adam and Eve by making them think they were missing out on something. But they already had what God wanted for them. The devil uses this same trick on us today, telling us lies about who we are and what we need.

Reflection Questions:

  1. What is a lie you might believe about yourself that isn't true?
