Overview

Pety is the name of an app coined from pets. Pety connects users to their favorite pets within their location taking away the stress involved in looking for a preferred pet.

My Role

My responsibility on this project includes user research, designing of flows, visual design, and prototyping

Problem Statement

Due to the busy nature of most pet adopters, some show little or no interest when they discover that adopting pets will be stressful or takes extra time away from their lives. And because of the need to care for these pets, those without good information about these pets decide they are not interested.

Project goals

  1. Provide clear information on how to care for these pets such as feeding, medicals, and breeds
  2. To design user-friendly, aesthetically appealing, and an intuitive interface
  3. To create a smooth user experience and the path to pet adoption

Design Process:

I started the design process with empathy, it involves research using google forms to understand user’s thoughts, views, and behavior. After carefully analyzing their insight I began to build a pictorial concept of the solution, focusing on sketches, user flow, and wireframe to give a basis to iterate faster through ideas. From this, I went into designing the interface putting into account design principles such as contrast, typography, hierarchy, color, and spacing. Once the interface was ready I got feedback from other designers before validation.

User Interview and Research

User interviews and research are core methods in the design process. It gives enough data and input to the general ideas and design. I conducted research using a google survey form to know the user’s pain points. The following were asked;

  1. Do you own pets and how do you view them?
  2. Where was it adopted from
  3. How do you take care of them?
