I grew up in Foz do Arelho, a place that has always been my safe haven and that I hold in my heart as my favorite place in the world. Growing up here taught me to value our community, our culture, and the unique beauty that only locals can truly understand. Foz instilled in me the importance of community, solidarity, and sharing: I attended the local schools, catechism, holiday camps, and the after-school program (ATL). Throughout my life, I have always sought to be present to help: I served on the Social and Recreational Center’s board, actively volunteer at local fairs and the annual village festival, and for the past four years, I have served as secretary of the Parish Assembly.

Among the playful moments of holiday camps and school memories, Pedro and Guadalupe always stood out for their generosity, love, and commitment to Foz. They are present in everything that strengthens the community, and we know where to find them at every village event. Rogério is always there, too — cooking for the community with dedication and care, and showing moments of silence and respect when carrying the cross at funerals, demonstrating his care and reverence for the people and traditions of our land.

I believe that with them, Foz do Arelho will continue to grow sustainably, preserving its identity, bringing young people to our town, while never forgetting the elderly — strengthening the community and ensuring that everyone feels valued.

Foz is more than just a place; it is part of who we are, and I am proud to stand alongside those who work with passion for this land.
