Overview:

Our ItsWare cabinet is a test unit for a new asset tracking system. The main idea behind the cabinet is to log use of tools and help prevent losses for a manufacturing or prototype development company. Like most test units, this cabinet is still in development and may have bugs. If you happen to notice any weird behavior, let us know in #tell-us-its-broken so we can do our part in helping improve this cool new tech!

How to gain access to the E-Lab ItsWare cabinet:

1. Go look for your ItsWare member sign up email.

   • Look for an email from ‘support@itsware.com’ with subject "You have been invited”.
   • If you haven’t received or can’t find an invite email, let us know you need access!
   • ItsWare signup link will expire after 72 hours after being sent.
   • If your link expires you can still access your account but hitting re-set password and responding to the reset password email. Refer to “Trouble Accessing” below.

2. Follow instructions to set up your ItsWare login credentials.

   • From your ItsWare account page you can view your user profile (top right) and find your Access key and use this to manually open the cabinet.

4. Add your Wallet Pass to quickly and easily open the cabinet.

   1. Open the mobile app or go to ItsWare.com/login via your mobile phone’s browser.

   2. Open the menu in the top right .

      

   3. Navigate to user profile.

   4. Locate the button for ‘Wallet Pass’ and add it to your digital wallet.

      

5. Use the cabinet! Tap the door > take your tools > close the door.

   • Open the door with your phone or your access key when ever you need something.
   • Every mobile device and operating system has a slightly different method for activating NFC passes.
     • iOS devices prefer more of a tap motion at the top of the device.
     • Android devices differ by manufacturer but may require placing the center of the device flat against the reader.
   • Closing the door will trigger a scan cycle where any changes are logged automatically.

Trouble accessing?

• Registration link expired → go to app.ItsWare.com/login > reset your password > this will restart the process.
• Didn't get the invite the email → let us know and we can resend a new access link.
• Other trouble → let us know and well get you sorted.

FAQ:

New? How new?

• Very new, we’re one of the first beta test units out in the wild, and part of our agreement of use is to bug test it. Let us know if you get unexpected behavior, bugs, or think ways to make it better.

Another app?!

• Yes, but it's optional. To open the cabinet you just need an ItsWare account and to use your access code or wallet pass. The mobile app is handy to check cabinet stock, set up your wallet pass, or see which items are currently assigned to you. You probably won’t need to use the app much, but let us know if you’re using it and what you think of it.
