I didn’t realize how much I love the “tempting Devil of southern folklore” trope as much as I did when I started this. (Considering how many Warlocks I play, I probably should have.) It’s bleeding into lots of new stuff I build and how I justify things, but it’s moving from a solution to a theme. I like that it gives preacher types something to fight, I like how American folk it makes everything feel. But I worry it’s a big step away from my original “fantasy with pistols and trains” to a “western with magic in it”. But I also think that’s what people are liking about the concept? I don’t want to make this decision without intention, but it feels right to me so far.

Is The Devil being the world’s big bad as cool as I think it is?
