83 investigations were conducted compared to 64 prosecutions and 4 convictions between 2016–2019. The numbers have not been constant over the years but 2016 recorded the highest investigations and prosecutions. On a positive note, 10 victims testified in 2018. Corruption in law enforcement and the judiciary remains a serious and unaddressed problem that impairs the effectiveness of anti-trafficking efforts, hence the low number of convictions.
