I spent many years at Visa Inc. building credit cards, but this one is different — Sequin is personal.
I was inspired to build Sequin by my mother. She believes that credit cards have secret fees and “gotchas!” that can be used against her and I joined Visa to build credit cards to demystify the industry’s secrets for her.
But in 2016, I felt just as helpless as her when I was rejected from the card that I had built at Visa, with no explanation.
I left Visa to build a credit world that is more welcoming and equitable to women. Here at Sequin, we're hard at work boosting women's credit scores and getting them to ✨ 800+ credit score✨ club. Our average Sequin woman sees a 20 point credit score increase in just a week and our users have a safe space ****to discuss credit and finances, ask their questions, express their doubts, and celebrate their victories.
