We aren't naturally good at storytelling w/ data

• No one teaches us how to (1) tell stories (2) with numbers
• We often rely on tools to understand best practices
  • anyone can put data into graph (using Excel and stuff)
  • but they do so w/o a clear path ⇒ things turn ugly and meaningless

There is a story in the data. It's my job (not the tools) to bring it to life
