Overview: The team at Avarni have been listening to your feedback and focused on improving the platform to give our users the best possible experience. We’ve began improving the platform from the ground up and in order to do so we’re building Avarni V2, the same platform but built on top of a more powerful database and with key improvements to our existing features.

Why V2?: As we’ve been growing and onboarding more users onto Avarni, its become clear that migrating the platform to a more robust and powerful database will result in long-term benefits for users, including improved performance, increased calculation capabilities, more flexibility and clarity over your emissions data, and the ability to introduce more sophisticated features in response to user feedback and emerging industry standards.

How are we releasing V2?: The new platform will be released to users in a staged approach allowing users to gradually access new features and improvements while minimising disruptions. Users will have the option to access our current platform as well as Avarni V2, which will be accessible through app.avarni.co. Users will also have the option to migrate their existing organisations to the new platform at any time over the release process.

Stage Breakdown & Benefits

Stage 1

What will be included in Stage 1 and what’s new?

The first release will include the core components for calculating and understanding your emissions. This includes:

• Dashboards and Custom Graphs
• New and improved Import Screen
  • Improved coverage of Scope 3 categories, allowing for calculation of 14 out of the 15 categories, including Waste. Avarni will not cover Investments (Category 15).
  • Additional error flagging tools during the import process for on-platform corrections without needing to modify source files or restart the import process.
• Redesigned Emissions Hub and Review Process
  • Unifying the emission hub and review page for more streamlined review process and effective data management

Access Limitations

During Stage 1, users won’t have access to the following components:

• Supplier Engagement
• Forecasting
• Sub-organisations
• Supplier SBTi Targets
• Rules Manager
• Custom Fields
  • Users will be able to create and use custom fields during the import process. This data will be stored on the platform but will not be available to use in Custom Charts.
