We all want our work to be **meaningful** – that is, we want to see the impact our work has on both our own and our company's growth. While we can't deliver great work every day, we should always know (1) what we're supposed to deliver, (2) why that makes Juro successful and (3) how we spend our time and energy to get there.

We can't deliver meaningful work if we don't work sustainably. If we don't pace ourselves, we get worn out from over-use and our work can lose its meaning. This leads to imbalance, disengagement, inconsistent (and poorer) performance and at worst, mental ill-health (burnout, depression, anxiety). Common symptoms of unsustainable work are:

  1. Long work hours. You feel like you're not getting enough valuable work done during the day, e.g. because you're constantly interrupted by notifications/meetings of varying quality.
  2. Difficulty prioritizing. You have trouble seeing what you're supposed to deliver each week, what to work on first or what you've achieved after an 8+ hour day.
  3. No flexibility. Your work day feels more rigid because it already starts with catching up on backlog, giving updates in meeting and trying to keep up with your tasks.

At Juro, we want to enable you to deliver meaningful work sustainably – that is, work in a way that lets us consistently meet (and sometimes exceed) expectations. To do that, we need to set standards on a team and company level of what's expected good and we need to provide guidelines on an individual level for how you can do good work everyday better:

<aside> 💡 Deep Work Tuesdays

Tuesdays are designated days at Juro without internal meetings. This is to reduce the amount of meetings and to reserve more time for focused meaningful work. That means internal meetings, except if:

Use this time flexibly to focus on deep work without interruption. Please keep Slack noise to a minimum too because it can be just as disruptive as a meeting.
