We want to facilitate our candidates during the recruitment process, so this page will provide information about how we structure interviews and tips on how to prepare for them.

1. Discovery call

The discovery call is the first step of the recruitment process at Trengo. It ****usually takes around 30 minutes which means that it will be a straightforward conversation. The main topics that are covered during this call are the important aspects of Trengo, the job opening, your experience, ambitions, and expectations.

This is a great moment to get to know each other and to see if we both feel there is a match.

During this call, you will discuss your previous experience and share the expectations of the role from both sides, your notice period, salary expectation, and other practical matters.

If you are invited to the discovery call, here are our tips on how to prepare for it:

Finally, the most important tip we can give you is to be honest, be transparent and be you!

2. Competency Based Interview

After the discovery call, we will assess whether we are a good match. If that is the case, during the next interviews, from the Hiring Manager screen to the Challenge (see Recruitment Process), our interviewers will conduct Competency Based interviews. This means that, based on the position and stage in the process, Hiring Managers or other Team members that take part in the recruitment process will prepare their interview questions based on specific competencies they wish to see in candidates. Scoring high in these competencies is what we believe would add value to our existing team. For instance, for an Account executive role, candidates can expect questions related to their commercial awareness, or communication skills.
