On completing any of the No More Marking national assessments, you will be able to access the results for your school in various formats. For more general guidelines for accessing your results, please see the help article here.

In this article, we will go into more detail on interpreting the PDF results report for your school and the particular year or grade.

Overview page

On your Overview page, you will find, for your own school and for all the schools together, the total number of participating students for that grade and the average scaled score achieved. You can therefore get an idea of how your students did in relation to the total cohort. This is also represented visually in the graph.

At the bottom of the page, we give the cumulative frequencies achieving each grade and the boundary scores for each grade. Just to make clear, 100% of students will always achieve the bottom grade or above (but some or most will achieved a higher grade). In the above example, 93% of all students achieved the Developing grade or above.

Gender summary

The Gender page is set out in exactly the same way as the Overview page, but broken down in terms of male and female students.

Class Groups

The Class Group page presents the average scaled scores, with estimated error bars, for each class group in your school, along with the school average. This allows you to compare the performances across just your school's classes.

Schools summary

The Schools page allows you to compare visually where your school lies amongst the schools participating in this particular grade assessment. Your school is shown by the data point with the error bars.

Pupil Summary

The last part of the report shows the ordered (by descending scaled score) list of your students taking the particular assessment.
