<aside> 📖 Summary

Intercreativity—Linked Thoughts is a note-taking and notepad-sharing application that lets its users create text notes in the form of atomic elements and flexibly organize, link, and nest them.

It has powerful access-control configurations to share or make public portions of the content created by a user, and powerful searching features to explore other author's content that is public or accessible to a given user.

Its key characteristic, compared to other recent similar application like RoamResearch, is that it lets users fork content from each other, and use this as a collaboration or discussion pattern that was not previously possible.

It also offers a fully decentralized Web3-based solution for storing the user content.

Opportunity Definition

The Web was conceived both as a tool for content creation as much as a tool for content consumption. In fact, the ability to seamlessly create content just as easy as you consume it is what, according to Tim Berners-Lee, sparks Intercreativity, the noun,

However, the process of switching from using desktop applications to web applications for personal content creation, even after two decades of having The Web there, has been relatively slow and started to become more common only recently.

More importantly, widely used apps for personal content creation, like Evernote, follow the design of legacy, paper notepads, not that of a linked "web" of content, as envisioned by Berners-Lee.

The evolution, from personal notepads and documents to a "Web" made of linked ideas is still happening, slowly, and at multiple levels at once:

This evolution cannot be considered anywhere close to being over. Big changes at all three levels are expected to continue for some time, and its impact on society to continue growing.

The opportunity here is to provide new tools and patterns for avid digital content creators. Alternatives that are one step further from their paper-based origins.

Intercreativity's Unique Offer

Intercreativity offers content creators the ability to create content using patterns that are closer to "The Web", and a bit further away from pieces of paper.
