This is me installing MC and writing down my thoughts and taking a lot of screenshots on —February 23, 2021.
It all started on the homepage.
Download we go. and since I have the new M1 MBP, off to the forum looking for a Apple Silicon version.
After scrolling down a bit, there was a "Mac 27 Board" link that brought me to the forums where I found the latest release notes post.
Some standard stuff followed. Licenses, who reads them, anyway?
Dragging and dropping. Easy enough.
First mystery → What button means I will be able to enter the license I bought? Got it on third try by going left to right ... 😉

First run (after uninstalling the trial some time ago).
Forgot about the timer.
I don't like automatic imports. They unnecessarily scan the whole computer and I have music only in one place.
Why wouldn't the software ask me and run an automatic timer?
Now this is what I was looking for.
Although I have my music in a "single folder" that I want the software to monitor, I have to choose "Auto-import" because that is what seems closest to what I want.
Now on to the import. No folder but a lot of tasks. Let's go for the folder first.
More puzzles ahead!
Why should I import images? Why should I select all the other options? Data? Playlists? Aren't playlists audio?
What does it mean "Analyze audio on new files"?
Also, if I leave "Ignore special files" on, will it import album art?
Here we are again. Back to the options in Media Import
There is no "Help" or additional information about what all those options do. And I'd like to finish this, not go into help and RTFMing my way through this.
If I do not select them now, will they be accessible later?

15:15:46 and the import is done
... says that it failed to import 210 files ... had to look into the "log" that was hiding behind the "Details ..." button, scroll to the bottom and below all the 16.000something files there were some .cue files that failed import. A summary would definitely be nice to have for an overview of what was the status of it. Not that important though.
