Program for maintaining abandoned Hackclub projects from past ysws programs.

Tagline: Rethink. Rebuild. Reship.

Idea:

Hack club brings many great Projects, all packed with originality and creativity, almost all of these projects get abandoned quickly, many Hack Clubbers move on to the next project with a new ysws or they just have not got the time to finalize the project, yet all of these projects contain a creative base and a vision by the author. Inherit focuses on allowing participating Hack Clubbers to revisit old Projects by other Hack Clubbers and continue their development to complete the original Author’s vision or shape a new one.

Practical implementation:

Bot scrapes: #ship, #flavortown-ship, flavortown api, official hack club repos, for unmaintained projects or beginner GitHub issues and indexes them with a skill level index and language tags. User select known programming languages and a skill level for those programming languages, after that the system recommends repos, user selects what ever interests them.

Review: user summarizes their additions, features, updates, etc. and another user (if applicable, similar skillset) verifies the changes.

Short:

YS: You maintain, improve or continue another Hack Clubbers Project to finally create a PR with your updates.

WS: github digital badge (https://thegithubshop.com/collections/shop-all/products/2025-hackable-badge, github playing cards (https://thegithubshop.com/collections/collectibles/products/1559201-00-playing-cards), books (e.g. clean code), stickers (github/hc)
