Details
The Graph Indexers are the backbone of Web3, as a result its critical that users have the best resources to help them get started as an Indexer and manage their infrastructure.
We we are seeking an individual/team to develop an Indexer Excellence Guide to help new and existing Indexers stay up to date with best practices, network standards and troubleshooting tips.
RFP Requirements
This Excellence Guide can be broken up into parts but should cover all aspects of being a valuable and trusted Indexer from start to finish. For this, the video tutorials must guide the Indexer on how to reliable deploy a network node and do continuous maintenance, as well as a walkthrough around the different network incentives, showcasing how Indexers interact with the network to collect rewards, do effective allocation management and cost modelling, etc.
This guide should focus on best practices. Suggested topics to be covered:
- Recommended hardware for multiple use cases - how to properly size the infrastructure having in mind targeted subgraphs
- Best practices when it comes to maintaining highly available and redundant infrastructure and services
- How to keep up with new software releases, and how to do safe upgrades
- How to troubleshoot common errors and where to go for technical help
- Concerns with automatic subgraph indexing time during upgrades and how it may affect downtime (not being able to collect query fees, should the node need to re-index everything)
- How to do optimal allocation to collect maximum amount of rewards from the reward pool
- How to use existing tooling for efficient query pricing (cost modelling)
- Any other major concerns for Indexers on the economics side of things, and how to use existing tooling to mitigate risk and adapt
- Multiblockchain support: (educating Indexers on difference between EVM and non-EVM chains and how it reflects on node deployment and maintenance)
- Optional but ideal: multilingual versions of the guide(s)
