Incidents in incident.io can be in several states:

Changing the status of an incident

You can change statuses inline with something like /incident status fixing .

You can also achieve the same thing through a helpful modal which you can bring up with /incident status. This also comes with the benefit of a little bit of guidance, and will repeat back the current status, too.

Effect on your timeline and incident homepage

Like most notable things in incident.io, updates to an incident's state are reflected into your timeline.

They're also reflected on the incident homepage, which updates as the incident progresses.
