Goal:
Increase the Facebook post's engagement rate by improving the number of "likes" for the post.
Why this is important:
- When users post something new on Facebook, they would want their friends to like their posts and craves social validation.
- This gives the users a sense of belonging and increases the overall Facebook engagement rate.
- If users do not see adequate engagement for their posts they feel dejected and may eventually stop posting on Facebook.
User Segment:
Facebook user segment can be broadly classified into two categories:
- Users who create (writes) the posts.
- Users who consume(view) the posts.
To increase social validation for user posts, I will identify the problems that block engagement for both the user segment and brainstorm solutions to address them.
Problems in the post creator segment:
- Users' posts are often regular plain text content without any interesting emojis, nuggets or media formats.
- Some of the user posts are difficult to read and consume either due to poor sentence formation or complicated vocabulary.
- The user creates a post once in a while and infrequently.
