To properly import the building assets into your scene, simply drag a building from the Asset Browser into the 3D View.

Note: Since the Import Method is set to Link, all data-blocks will remain synced with the original file. This includes the object's transformation and mesh data.

If you import a building asset using Append instead, all of the building modules from the original file will also be imported — which is not ideal.

How to Move and Edit the Imported Assets?

To move or edit a linked building asset, you'll need to “make local” its data-blocks:

  1. Select the asset and go to the Object Properties panel

  2. Click the “make local” button

→ This will allow you to move, scale, and rotate the building asset.

  3. Now go to the Object Data panel

  4. Click the “make local” button

→ This will allow you to enter Edit Mode and modify the mesh.

By overriding these two data-blocks, you’ll be able to freely transform and edit the asset while keeping the Flexi Building modifier linked to the original asset library.
