Events across the Watershed (Bioregional!)

Sign up sheet for volunteers to take the map across the watershed! We have already been to two events, but as you can see, there are many more throughout the summer.

We have over 300 people expected to come to the event this Saturday.
Resilience and Adaptation
We have learned a lot from the first few events we have taken it to. What we learned so far:
- the big map caught people’s attention for sure, and got them wanting to join the growing movement (and kids wanted their parents to join the movement too!)
- the map was too heavy for its own good! It was hard to carry, and also ripped its own hinges off from the weight. So we decided to try something new—we added a wooden backing and removable joints that should help make it easier to move and more sturdy!
- We also drew the size of the lake from healthy levels to current levels to make it more clear
- we need an interactive way to explain the ecological problem to people: I am going to recreate my water budget activity! also the slider activity from a few months ago as well
- the more interaction without talking, the better people react!

I sent these to my coworker to make the changes, but I haven’t been able to get pictures from her quite yet.
Replicability and Scalability
Because the watershed is so large, we had to consider replicability and scalability from an early stage. Here is what we have learned so far:
- the big map is hard to transport (and would require hours of driving to different parts of the watershed), so it is not good to be our only source of interaction
- we want to create a few smaller interactions with people that can be easily replicable across the watershed and beyond
