Now that you understand PARA, it's time to begin implementing it. Implementing PARA isn't a one-time heavy lift; it's an on-going process that you do just-in-time.
Action:
- [ ] Open your Documents folder.
- [ ] Create a new folder called “Archive [date]”
- [ ] Move all of your current files and folders into that folder
- [ ] Create a new folder called “4 Archives”
- [ ] Move your dated archive folder into the new “4 Archives” folder
- [ ] Create a new folder called “1 Projects”
- [ ] Within the “1 Projects” folder, create new folders for each of your active projects
- [ ] Create a new folder called “2 Areas”
- [ ] Within the “2 Areas” folder, create new folders for each of your active areas of responsibility
- [ ] Create a new folder called “3 Resources”
- [ ] Create new folders only if and when you need them. You can also pull folders out of your archives as needed.
