“The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), also known as the Global Goals, were adopted by the United Nations in 2015 as a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure that by 2030 all people enjoy peace and prosperity.
The 17 SDGs are integrated—they recognize that action in one area will affect outcomes in others, and that development must balance social, economic and environmental sustainability.
Countries have committed to prioritize progress for those who're furthest behind. The SDGs are designed to end poverty, hunger, AIDS, and discrimination against women and girls.
The creativity, knowhow, technology and financial resources from all of society is necessary to achieve the SDGs in every context” (Sustainable development goals, accessed 2026).
Sustainable Development Goals crucial for the earth itself and everything on earth, to be nurtured, protected and to evolve in a positively innovative way. Addressing that there are problems in the world that need attention is healthy. Whilst we live on this planet we must also respect the planet and the people, animals, resources. Putting in the effort to care for all those things will only benefit individuals. There is an urgency to climate action, poverty and lack of resources in areas of the world. If These SDG’s are not attended to, there could be serious consequences. Ice caps melting, sea levels rising, lack of resources for animals to eat meaning lack of resources for humans to eat. People getting sick and the planet no longer being a safe, healthy place for humans or animals to live anymore…the knock-on effect of poor choices that do not serve SDG’s will become an irreversible problem. To stop these things from happening, speeding awareness and actively making better choices on a daily basis will contribute to our support of SDG’s and saving the world. After all, if we have no land, clean air or lack of food, what do you think is going to happen to us?
