The core topic we were both interested in exploring for this project was something in the realm of mental health. In disscussing what we wanted to get out of this project we narrowed down our thinking to one inital idea to ideate from, that Idea being:
Mental health (Depression) no ones experience or perspective is the same
Being a rather broad and heavy topic we went through several phases of ideation to break down the macro topic into a more digestible subject matter that would fit with the scope of this project.
The initial ideation phase proved difficult for us as there are so many different components that make up the overall topic, It was hard to narrow down something of which excited us both and that was not cliché and been done a million times before.
With this said we quickly realized that using the concept of varying perspectives would make for an interesting narrative as it did not need to be entirely subject related.
At first we were interested in the relationship between peoples digital selves versus their actual selves and the project perspective people impose onto people, however this train of thought ran stale rather quickly as we realized it was something that has been done a million of times before, and it would be hard for us to show our idea in a new interesting way, the risk being it would become rather cliché.
However from this dead end we were able to narrow down an idea of sorts to continue to explore:
Using perspective to show how people experience and perceive the world in different ways and that no person can perceive the world in the same way.
With this idea in mind we began to explore the many different ways we could create a narrative around it. We stuck with this same idea for quite some time and continued to develop our narrative, however we felt as if the narritive was missing something and becomeing more about proving something, which we didnt feel was exactly nessesary for what we are trying to do for this project.
