Introduction

The Threshold Integrations Guild started the Quarter with a list of ambitious, high quality OKRs. Several were stretch-goals, yet the Integrations Guild rose to the challenge. Just like the other Guilds, the IG had to learn how to self organize, assign tasks, and learn to communicate and work in an asynchronous manner due to the wide geographic dispersion of its members. The IG Committee also had changes in its composition throughout the first couple of months.

DAO to DAO relationships

TIG’s core mission is to build long-lasting relationships with other DAOs and protocols.

The TIG has built a comprehensive database of protocols with information that allows to filter and prioritize a pipeline for potential integrations. Yet more work needs to be done in this regard.

Contact with several protocols for potential tBTC adoption was established. Notional, Rari, LendFlare, Unit Protocol were some of them.

Other DAOs and protocols like Revest, Sturdy, Boardroom, Staking Rewards, Nodefolio, Hashchat, Dework and Utopia were hosted on IG calls to present their protocols and solutions.

Lessons learned

Over the course of the past quarter, TIG learned a lot. For example, it is difficult to approach another protocol to form a partnership without a working product with good liquidity on the market. The highly anticipated launch of tBTC v2 has been the focus of many TIG activities, however, the realization came that building partnerships and integrations is not easy without your flagship product to showcase.

What went well

Threshold PRE launched successfully with around 170 nodes staked in time to participate in the staking bonus. One major OKR for Q2 was to increase independent node count. Significant effort and time was spent on this goal. The Integrations Guild hosted a node workshop in conjunction with the Marketing Guild. The two-part workshop was well attended by the community. Due to the success of the first node workshop, an upgraded version thereof is planned for August.

A Threshold Worklock was discussed at length, and the basic groundwork for two implementations were crafted. However, due to changing market conditions, we decided to postpone until market conditions are more favorable.

Curve

Threshold has successfully created a T/ETH pool on Curve, and a proposal to remove the tBTC v1 gauge from Curve in anticipation of tBTC v2 launch has been written and posted to Curve’s governance forum.

Budget/Achievement

The Integrations Guild created a conservative budget that was approved without significant modifications. The passing of an independent budget was a significant step toward operating as a guild and making its own decisions. As an example, the IG recognized the need for an official tech support provider and subsequently brought forth and approved a proposal for Threshold’s first Tech Support Moderator.

What could have gone better

Securing high quality staking providers to host and maintain bootstrap nodes was an additional OKR that is still in progress. Several highly competent providers have been identified, however, until the completion of the tBTC v2 client moves closer, the unknown nature of requirements turned out to be a hindrance to completing this OKR.

The IG could have placed greater emphasis on encouraging contributions from non-committee members through various means, such as offering bounties or other incentives.
