5600 competitors, many rounds of judging, and months of anticipation...

It's now down to the final 15 competitors- one will be selected as the winner to receive the $250,000 scholarship.

After months without hearing anything back, out of the blue Breakthrough posted that the winner will be announced within 24 hours by Sal Khan and Astronaut Scott Kelly.

Within those 24 hours, I went through a roller coaster of emotions in anticipation of a potential life-changing result.

I couldn't sleep that night. Nevertheless, woke up energized to see the results.

Setting up an instagram live, I amassed 50+ live viewers, all awaiting for the grand reveal at 12.

After the winner was revealed (Congrats Maryam! 🇨🇦), I felt disappointed that I had not won.
