Overview
Crib + Crypt = CRYBT
A solo dungeon crawler cribbage roguelike.
*You are a necromancer, dwelling in a dusty old tower, listening to the whispers of a dark god through a mysterious black cube.
You head down into the catacombs below, as necromancers will do. You defeat monsters, and add their corpses to your graveyard to become your army.
You prepare offerings to the dark god, and perhaps you will be rewarded with magical trinkets and boons.
You survive as long as you can, but nothing stays warm and living for long…
Down in the Crybt…*

Setup
- 20 Life (keep track however you like, I like to use a D20).
- Shuffle a standard deck including 2 Jokers.
- Keep track of crawls (rounds) however you like (I like to use a D6).
Crawls
Rounds are called CRAWLS
- There are 4 encounters per crawl
- After 4 encounters, end the crawl by preparing your dark offering and buying boons and/or healing
- Increase the crawl counter, and begin your next crawl
When your life drops to 0, the game immediately ends. Your final ‘score’ will be whatever crawl (round) number you made it to.
Encounter (x4 per round)
- Draw 5 cards. Discard one card to the offering (face-up). Draw a Hero.
- Before revealing the Monster, you may swap your Hero. Place your hero face-down in your Offering, then replace it with a card from your graveyard).
- Reveal the Monster. Add the crawl counter value to the monster’s power. (ex. On round 3, all monsters have +3 to their power). This is the target you need to defeat the monster.
- Score your hand (4 cards + Hero).
