You may wish to factory reset your PC for the following reasons:

To perform a factory reset

  1. Restart your PC into ‘Troubleshooting Mode’:
    1. If your PC is working First press and hold the SHIFT key on the keyboard. With that key still pressed, click the ’Start’ **button, then ’Power’, and then ’Restart’.
    2. If your PC is not working Restart the machine three times in quick succession, not allowing it to start up cleanly/fully each time. E.g. hit CTRL+ALT+DEL or the power button as it is starting up.
  2. At the 'Choose an option screen', select 'Troubleshoot'.
  3. At the 'Troubleshoot' screen, select 'Factory Image Restore'.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to confirm and complete the factory reset process.
  5. This takes some time, and your computer will then restart back into Windows first time setup.
