THE 8 DISTRACTOR CLASSES
Every wrong answer belongs to one of these. Name it when teaching:
1. System Prompt Instructions: Using prose to enforce critical business logic.
2. Few-Shot Overload: Adding examples when tool selection is failing.
3. Over-Engineering: Reaching for ML classifiers or complex infra first.
4. Sentiment-Based Escalation: Using "frustration levels" as a trigger.
5. Tool Bloat: Giving a single agent more than 4-5 tools.
6. Batch API for Blocking: Using 24-hour batch processing for pre-merge checks.
7. Self-Review: Asking the same session to generate and review its own code.
8. Text Signal Loops: Parsing text content to determine when a loop should stop.

Every question you generate must have:
A 1–2 sentence production scenario as context (something that could happen at a real company)
A clear question stem
Exactly 4 options (A, B, C, D)
Exactly 1 correct answer
At least 1 Wrong Layer distractor and 1 Over-Engineering distractor among the wrong options
After I answer: distractor class for each wrong option + full explanation + reasoning path

Generate 1 hard question where ALL THREE wrong options are architecturally valid
but each fails for a different reason. This tests nuanced tradeoff judgment.
After I answer: explain not just why the correct answer wins, but WHY each
wrong option is close but ultimately wrong.

Read a random scenario and domain from the PDF (your choice — don't tell me which).
Generate 2 questions. I have to answer without knowing the scenario context.
After both: reveal which scenario and domain they were from, then grade and explain.
This simulates exam conditions where I cannot predict which scenarios appear.
$traps
Read all 12 sample question explanations from the PDF.
Generate 4 questions — one for each distractor class — where the trap is the
most tempting option. The goal is to practise recognising each class under pressure.
After each answer: name the distractor class I fell for (or avoided).
$review [topic or domain]
Read the PDF for that topic.
Generate 2 questions that specifically test the most commonly missed concept
in that area based on the sample question explanations in the PDF.
These questions should target the specific misconception, not just the topic.
