Day 1: Prioritize Chaos over Patterns
- Guiding principal over this entire month.
- Live reads, awkward footworks and putting yourself in uncomfortable situations instead of constant scripted drills with memorized patterns.
- Basketball is chaos… so train in chaos.
Day 2: Focus ONLY on 1-2 concepts each workout
- Don’t try to improve everything all at once. Pick a concept, skill or action to work on and REALLY specialize on that for the day.
- This could be broad: balance going full speed or playing more smooth.
- This could be niche: touch finishing or catch & shoot
Day 3: Work EXTENSIVELY on footwork
- Footwork seeps into every single other skill in basketball. Good footwork means good balance, adaptability, and a well-rounded game.
- Examples:
- Wrong foot layups
- Playing off two foot
- Inside and outside foot stops
- Shooting using 1-2 steps (both ways) & two foot hops
- Anything else that is awkward and not the normal way you’re used to doing things
Day 4: Improve the FLOW of your jumper instead of form.
- Flow work is the quickest way to improve your shot the most… so don’t do rigid form work
- How smoothly can you move the ball? Can you transfer energy easily from your lower body to your upper half? Can you do this consistently?
- One easy way to check this… does the ball start and move through your jumper with ZERO hitches. If there is a hitch, drill these until its gone.

- Squat Touch Jumpers (10 Makes)
- Pound Dribble Jumpers (10 Makes)
- Right-Hand Pound Dribble Jumpers (10 Makes)
- Left-Hand Pound Dribble Jumpers (10 Makes)
- Behind the Back Wraps (10 Makes, 5 Each Way)
- Moving Behind the Back Wraps (10 Makes)
- Moving Crossover Jumpers (10 Makes)
Day 5: ONLY do manipulation handle work
- Cut out stationary work, and only do this type of handle work. This teaches control over the ball, especially with one hand. It also makes it hard to actually steal the ball from you.
