If you watched our recent video, What WARZONE does to your BRAIN (Shocking), you now know that many of today's games are brilliantly designed masterpieces of addiction that are designed with one goal in mind: To keep you playing again, and again, and again.

These game developers have hacked the reward systems in our brains by giving us countless micro-hits of dopamine - you complete the task, and you get the reward (XP). These micro hits of dopamine keep us coming back because they make us feel good, and they give us the illusion of making progress.

It's actually quite evil.

They make us feel like we are accomplishing so much! We level up, unlock new characters, skins, and weapons, and those things ultimately make our gaming experience better.

The problem with this is that the system only benefits the company who has made the game. Their market share as well of their share of YOUR attention consistently grows, all while more and more hours melt away from your own life.

Make no mistake - these are hours that you could have spent improving yourself, taking action steps towards your goals, and easing that emotional discomfort that comes with experiencing a huge gap between where you are and where you want to be.

So how do YOU use this insidious system to your advantage?

You flip the script and begin GAME-IFYING your life. You set your daily tasks up in a way that lets you look at them as little missions. Little quests to be completed that have their own unique rewards!

Lets take a look at one of the easiest ways to do this. Hopefully by this point, you've taken some actions I've recommended in past videos and started scheduling your day in a Google Calendar.

If you haven't - HERE'S YOUR ACTION ITEM. Do it NOW! This is KEY in upgrading your real-life avatar.

Now, lets take a look at a real day in a Google Calendar for a member of the Time Theory team:

Really take a look at this image. Look at how much potential EXPERIENCE is contained within this single day.

Each type of task is color coded. You can look at these different colors of indications of different skills, just like you would have in many of the most popular games today.

Leveling up each skill has its own unique benefits, exactly like the mechanics built into the most additive games on this planet.

The difference between this Google Calendar and a game, however, is that completing each of these tasks will have a direct and immediate impact on the quality of life for this person! Each and every task completed moves the needle forward.

They will still get the dopamine hit when completing each task, but the completion of each task is infinitely more valuable than any achievement in a game ever could be.

If you can really internalize this, your life will improve rapidly.

Making consistent steps every single day towards your biggest goals and dreams will suddenly become not only easy, but even more amazing... enjoyable!
