Section goal: to show you exactly how to organize your routine—even if you study on your own—and how to fit real-life English into your daily life without relying on a course or a teacher.

🧠 1.1 UNDERSTAND YOUR STUDY FOCUS

Before anything else, define your main goal with Street English:

Goal Example focus
Understand rap music Study lyrics and rapper pronunciation
Talk like streamers Learn live-stream vocabulary and intonation
Live abroad and understand natives Train listening with real speech and reduce your accent
Stand out on social media Learn current slang, viral expressions, punchy phrases

⚠️ Without a goal, you’ll get lost in the middle of all the slang.

🗓️ 1.2 SET YOUR WEEKLY ROUTINE

Suggested routine for those with 20–30 minutes a day:

Day Focus Activity
Monday Real listening Watch 1 slang-filled video (YouTube/TikTok)
Tuesday Vocabulary Write down 5 new slang words with examples
Wednesday Pronunciation Repeat sentences out loud (shadowing)
Thursday Culture Read/watch something about AAVE, rap, or memes
Friday Review Review everything you learned that week
Saturday Challenge Record an audio or video using real slang
Sunday Free Relax listening to music or watching a show with real English subtitles

🛠️ 1.3 MATERIALS YOU’LL NEED

  1. Slang notebook (physical or digital — Notion, Google Docs, Anki)
  2. Useful apps:
  3. Headphones
  4. Phone with a voice recorder
  5. 1 video per week (music, a show clip, or a live stream)
